‌Maintenance of tank trucks mainly includes appearance inspection, component tightening, breathing valve inspection, wave-breaking plate inspection and loading and unloading device inspection. ‌

Appearance inspection
Appearance inspection is an important part of tank truck maintenance, mainly including the following aspects:

‌Signs and markings‌: Check whether the ribbon logo, the words "No fireworks", the dangerous goods sign light and the dangerous goods sign are complete and clear. Ensure that these signs can accurately reflect the actual situation of the tank and provide clear warnings for the driver and surrounding personnel. ‌Paint condition‌: Check whether the paint on the surface of the tank is bright in color and has clear boundaries, and pay special attention to whether the paint on the top of the tank is discolored or partially detached. The condition of the paint directly affects the anti-corrosion performance and overall appearance of the tank. ‌Tank damage‌: Carefully check whether the tank has damage such as collision dents, deformation or corrosion. Once a large collision dent or deformation is found, it should be stopped immediately and professional repairs should be sought; for tanks that cannot be repaired, scrapping should be considered. ‌
‌Welded joints‌: Check whether there are cracks on the main beam, secondary beam, wing plate root and each welded joint of the tank. Cracks in these parts may affect the structural strength and safety of the tank.
‌Leakage inspection‌: Check whether there are signs of leakage such as residual liquid, stains or dirt by observing the loading and unloading valves, flange interfaces and nearby tank walls. Once a leakage problem is found, measures should be taken immediately to repair or replace the relevant parts.
Component tightening
The tightening of components is also the focus of daily inspection, mainly including:

‌Tightening bolts‌: Confirm whether the fastening bolts of the manhole or liquid injection port are complete, without looseness or incompleteness. Check whether the connection structure and fastening device between the tank and the chassis are firm and reliable.
‌Buffer pads‌: Pay attention to whether the buffer pads between the tank and the chassis are intact, without dislocation, deformation, aging or incompleteness. Especially for the shock-proof pads, if there is dislocation, it may mean that the bolts between the tank and the frame have loosened.
Inspection of breathing valves and wave-breaking plates
Inspection of breathing valves and wave-breaking plates is also very important:

‌Breathing valve‌: Confirm whether each independent warehouse is equipped with a breathing valve, and whether more than 2 breathing valves are added when the volume of a single warehouse exceeds 12 cubic meters. Check whether the breathing valve is intact and perform performance tests to ensure that it can be opened and closed normally under a specific pressure.
‌Wave-breaking plates‌: Check whether the wave-breaking plates are welded, loose or dropped. Pay special attention to whether there are cracks on the wave-breaking plates, especially at the edges of the manholes. The stability and integrity of the wave-breaking plates are crucial to the safe driving of the tank truck.
Inspection of loading and unloading equipment
Inspection of loading and unloading equipment includes:

‌Valve material‌: Confirm whether the material of the valve matches the medium being transported. For tanks carrying flammable and explosive media, it is recommended to use valves made of copper, aluminum alloy or stainless steel that do not produce sparks.
‌Valve status‌: Check whether each valve discharge port is equipped with a valve box or anti-collision guardrail and other protective devices, and ensure that the plugging cover and closed leakage collector are fully configured, and the sealing rubber ring in the plugging cover is intact‌.
