The types of trucks can be divided according to different classification standards, mainly into the following types:
1. Classification by load capacity
Mini trucks: Total mass less than 1.8 tons
Light trucks: Load range 1.8 tons to 6 tons
Medium trucks: Load 6 tons to 14 tons
Heavy trucks: Load more than 14 tons.
2. Classification by compartment structure
Fence trucks: The compartment is an open structure, which is convenient for loading and unloading large goods
Van trucks: Fully enclosed design, suitable for transporting goods that need to be protected from rain
Barrel trucks: There are liftable railings on both sides, taking into account ventilation and shielding functions
Flatbed trucks: No roof design, suitable for transporting heavy equipment
Tank trucks: Used for liquids or goods with high sealing requirements (such as chemicals).
3. Classification by drive mode
Four-wheel drive trucks: All four wheels have driving force
Rear-wheel drive trucks: Only the rear wheels are powered
Front-wheel drive trucks: Only the front wheels are driven.
4. Classification by purpose
Ordinary trucks: general transportation
Special trucks: such as refrigerated trucks, crane trucks, dangerous goods transport trucks, etc.
Dump trucks: equipped with automatic dumping devices
Container transport trucks: dedicated to the transportation of standard containers.
5. Classification by body length (common models)
4.2m van/railway trucks: load capacity of 2 tons, suitable for urban distribution
6.8m railway/van trucks: load capacity of 10 tons, suitable for medium and long-distance transportation
9.6m railway/van trucks: load capacity of 16-18 tons, strong stability
13m railway/van trucks: load capacity of 30 tons, suitable for heavy equipment transportation.
